During lessons the main entrance stays closed; visitors announce themselves to the office through the door station, and the outlying buildings are on the same system.
A campus of three buildings has more doors than one office can keep an eye on. Left open, they let anyone in; locked, they leave parents, suppliers and tradespeople outside on the phone.
In this sample project five door stations sit on one system operated from the office. Whoever rings is seen and heard before the door is released, and the monitor shows which entrance is calling. After lessons the main entrance can be switched differently from the outlying buildings, for clubs and after-school care.
Access has not become stricter, only more traceable. The rule is not a note taped to the door but something held in the system.
